THE LIGHT AND THE DARK SIDE OF COMEDY

by Micheal Korensky

Two comedians: One's warm and fuzzy, the other's cold and scummy. Put them together and you've got The Light & The Dark Side of Comedy.

.Flip Schultz: A young joker with a knack for physical and observational humor, Schultz took first place at the Seinfeld Stand-Up Comedy Challenge and was a finalist in the E! Entertainment Television Talent Search. His philosophy on comedy:

"If something is too funny, no one takes you seriously. If something is too serious...no one pays attention. My comedy is a way for me to escape from the world of stress. And if some people want to come along for the ride, there's always a seat."

.David Stebbins: A Charlie Manson look-alike, Stebbins has been compared to Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison. His comedic victories include the 98.7-FM Laugh-Off, the seventh annual Comedy Showcase in West Palm Beach and Rib Ticklers Laugh-Off in Chicago. His thoughts on comedy:

"Standup comedy is overrated. It's degenerated into the cruise ship mentality. Some people want comedy to go over the edge. That's where I take my comedy. Other people find it scary."
