12/20/12 So here I sit in the "comedy condo" for McCurdy's Comedy Club where I'm working this week. I'm watching shows about tomorrow, Dec. 21, 2012, and how the world might end. "Nostradamus predicts the end of the world!!" I'm here to tell you that is all...oh, what's the word?...ah yes, bullshit. First of all, it's already Dec. 21 in Austrailia; and as far as I know, they're still fine. So many people want to project death and destruction for this day. It's like they are hoping for it just so they can say, "See, I was right!" But it's not. Tomorrow will be another day and things will go on as usual. But what I feel (and I think a growing number of people feel as well) is that tomorrow is going to be the beginning of a shift in consciousness. I can feel the sigh of a some of you readers out there. You're probably thinking, "Oh wow, Flip is a spaced out hippie now." If that's what you want to call it, so be it. But whatever you want to call me, I think it's a real thing. I believe that the universe is something so big and powerful that we truly can't understand/except/beieve/embrace it. And right now, in our time, things are so out of whack. We are a people of violence, corruption and greed. We bleed our natural resources, we polute our world and we strive for material possessions as if that will make us feel whole. And I'm nto saying I don't fall victim to it all. How can you not in this country? We are constantly bombarded with bad news in the (government controlled, not free at all) media, constantly shown commercials for new cars, computers, video games, fast food, etc. But I try to keep everything in perspective. I remind myself constantly that none of that - NONE OF IT - means anything in the grand scheme of everything. We are amazing creatures; creatures of love and magic. And yet we keep ourselves locked in a prison of our own making. A prison designed by those who claim to protect and lead us. And you can call me a conspiracy theorist if you want as well, but I've done some research and it's fucking scary what our (and other) governments are doing. ...But! starting soon (and we'll just say tomorrow to give it a bit of a time frame) we, both as a species and a society, will 'wake up'. We'll realize that we are our own leader. We are a seperate exerience of a oneness. We will take back our own existense and remember what our potential is. We truly are magic. Truly. When we realize that we will be free. OK, I don't want to ramble on for much longer. I just needed to vent. Do you ever wonder why when you turn on the news it's always tragedy? Always horrid stories of war, or shootings or storms? Did you ever wonder why there's never a series of "good news"? Did you ever stop to think that the reason they show us only bad news is because the more we see it, the more it becomes the norm and, therefore, the more we expect it? And by expecting it, we perpetuate it? I'm not saying that we (as individuals) are responsible for the specific tragedies that have happened, but I've come to understand that human emotion affects our physical world. And if we are constantly shown nothing but bad news, we expect nothing but bad news, and believe we will see nothing but bad news and therefore always get bad news. It sounds stupid, I know. But I really believe it's the truth. I saw a documentary that delved into a lot of the ideas that I mentioned, and one of the people in it talked about how the US monitors the magnetic waves of the planet. And how they are normally ranging between certain levels. Well one day, at a specific time, the waves spiked...the day was Sept. 11, 2001...the time was minutes after the attack. Because it was a world-wide event, the consciousness of the planet was experiencing the same emotional feeling. WE AFFECTED THE PLANET WITH OUR MINDS! Isn't that incredible!? Now think if we can all think wonderful, beautiful thoughts; imagine how amazing this world could be. And even if you say, "Dude, this is all stupid, hippie, flower-power bullshit", let me ask you one question...what would it hurt? Just to think that way. Why do we always have to think in negativity? Seriously, what would it hurt to change our way of thinking? Not that bad things won't still happen, but I bet there won't be as much of it...especially by our own hands. Just my two cents.
